Community Concerns

GoSafe enforce to keep road users safe and to deter motorists from exceeding the speed limit and endangering lives. When we receive a report of concern by a member of the public and we identify that there is a road safety risk linked to speed we will enforce at that location.

Over the last few weeks we have recorded speeds far exceeding the legal limits on roads across Wales and have also seen an increase in reports of community concerns from members of the public in all four forces.

During April 2020, Dyfed-Powys Police received 49reports of community concern compared to 14 in April 2019. This reflects the concern that the behaviour of a minority of drivers are causing our communities. We will respond to these concerns to minimise the risk to life: any collision now would increase the burden on our public services at a time where they are working hard to keep us all safe.

If you see GoSafe vans enforcing, know that we are in the right place, at the right time, for the right reason: to protect the public and to reduce the pressure on the NHS.

If you have a concern regarding speeding in your community, you can contact us here.
