The Collaboration Between GoSafe & Driving For Better Business Gathers Pace

The strategic aim of GoSafe is to make people safer on Welsh roads by reducing casualties and saving lives.

We want to engage with and educate the motoring public on the importance of road safety and encourage compliance with speed limits as well as a change in behaviour, rather than hand out fines. Enforcement is but one tool in our road safety armoury.

Back in November 2020, we announced our intention to collaborate with Driving for Better Business to bring their extensive knowledge and resources into Wales for the benefit of professional drivers.

Driving for Better Business is a government-backed Highways England programme to help employers in both the private and public sectors reduce work-related road risk, control the associated costs and improve compliance with current legislation and guidance.

We know that for many businesses and companies, driving is a key part of what they do. Haulage firms, bus companies, delivery fleets, Local Authority vehicles to name but a few. The Driving for Better Business vision is: “A world where those who use the roads for work do so safely, efficiently, and sustainably”.

GoSafe and Driving for Better Business are now actively looking for and contacting fleet managers for Local Authorities, small, medium and large scale businesses with fleets or vehicles to engage with us and make the most of the opportunities available to make both their fleet and drivers safer on our roads.

Alison Moriarty Fleet Risk Director, DRiiVE consulting Ltd, DfBB Ambassador said:

Its fantastic that GoSafe and Driving for Better Business are going to work together to improve the safety of roads across Wales and England. Many business journies will cross borders and the safety of all road users is an absolute priority for both organisations”

GoSafe have a history of working in partnership to deliver the shared goal of making Welsh roads safer for everyone. If you’re a fleet manager or a driver working for a company based in Wales and would like more information about how to get involved, please get in touch with us.

“Bringing the excellent range of educational assets of Driving for Better Business into Wales will offer Welsh businesses and fleet managers the opportunity to enhance the safety of their drivers and vehicles. The collaboration between GoSafe and Driving for Better Business is an exciting new venture for 2021, which will aim to increase both the safety and sustainability of business focused vehicles on the roads of Wales. Working together to achieve a shared goal is a key ethos within GoSafe and we look forward to bringing Driving for Better Business into Wales.”
