Continue To Play Your Part

We hope you all had a happy and safe Christmas, and enjoyed spending time with your family after a tough and unprecedented year of restrictions and lockdowns.

This morning, it was announced that the lockdown here in Wales will stay in place for at least another three weeks. All non-essential retail, leisure, tourism and hospitality venues will remain closed, schools will remain closed until February and a stay at home and work from home if you can directive.

Once again we will all be required to play our part in the battle against Covid-19. More of us will be encouraged to work from home, we will be asked to only socialise within our own households and travel will be restricted, all in an attempt to reduce the spread of this cruel virus.

As has been reported over the last few weeks, the number of positive cases across Wales has increased and our NHS have been reporting high volume of seriously ill patients being admitted to our hospitals.

GoSafe will continue to play our part in keeping Welsh roads safe and reducing casualties and fatalities on our roads throughout this lockdown period; just as we did throughout the previous two.

If you must travel on the roads of Wales, stand up for slowing down and drive within the speed limits and to the road conditions. By complying with the legal speed limits our roads will be safer, meaning the risk of collision or injury will be reduced, which will ease the heavy burden and pressure on our front line health workers.

So, as we all enter another period of lockdown we ask for anyone who has to make essential journeys on the roads of Wales to be safe and to think about how their behaviour or attitude could impact their own and other road users’ safety.

Be safe. Be aware. Look after one another and GoSafe on your essential journeys.
