Operation SNAP Submitters Portal Goes Live

Today, GoSafe are launching our brand new Operation SNAP Submitters Portal.

The webpage will allow members of the public who submit footage via Operation SNAP to access updates on the outcome of their submissions, as well as be informed on the retention requirements of the original footage they submitted.

Since 2017, members of the public have been submitting footage of dangerous and careless driving they have witnessed on the roads of Wales to the Police via Operation SNAP.

In November, 2020, in response to feedback from submitters, GoSafe started to update submitters in accordance with data protection guidance and GDPR requirements.

As of today, submitters will receive an email from GoSafe informing them of an update in the status of their submission. Within the email there will be a link which will take the submitter to the Portal.

The submitter will then be required to enter their email address and their unique submission reference number which will generate a unique link which will be emailed to the registered email address of the submitter. In turn, this link will take the submitter to their submission update where it will note the final outcome and whether or not they will be required to retain the original footage or not.

Teresa Ciano, GoSafe Partnership Manager said:

“Thank you to all submitters to Operation SNAP for playing their part in keeping Welsh roads safe, and we hope that this new Portal will help update you on the outcome of your submission and encourage you to keep submitting evidence of dangerous or careless driving you have witnessed on the roads of Wales.”
