Driver given 6 points and fines totalling £853 after travelling 44mph on a 20mph road.
The offence was captured on the A5104 near Pontybodkin on Sunday, 14th April 2023. The vehicle was recorded travelling at 44mph by a fixed safety camera.
The speed of the offence meant that the driver was not eligible for a speed awareness course or a fixed penalty. The matter was instead sent straight to court.
The case was heard at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 18th June 2024. They were found guilty of the offence and given 6 points on their driving license. They were also given a £531 fine and made to pay £110 in court costs and a £212 victim surcharge.
