Court Result | High Speed 20mph offence

Driver given 6 points and fines totalling £853 after travelling 44mph on a 20mph road.

The offence was captured on the A5104 near Pontybodkin on Sunday, 14^th April 2023. The vehicle was recorded travelling at 44mph by a fixed safety camera.

The speed of the offence meant that the driver was not eligible for a speed awareness course or a fixed penalty. The matter was instead sent straight to court.

The case was heard at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 18^th June 2024. They were found guilty of the offence and given 6 points on their driving license. They were also given a £531 fine and made to pay £110 in court costs and a £212 victim surcharge.
