Camera scheme going live - Cowbridge Road

GoSafe, the Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership, work with the Highways Authorities in Wales to enforce safety camera schemes.

We have been working with Bridgend Council as they have introduced speed cameras at Cowbridge Road, with the aim of making these roads safer and improving compliance with the speed limit. These cameras will start enforcement on Monday, 31st July.

Speeding forms part of the ‘Fatal 5’ and is a main contributor to fatal road collisions in Wales. Enforcement on these roads will help us to reduce collisions and keep people in the community safer.

We are confident that the majority of road users, who drive within the speed limit, will see improvement in other drivers’ behaviour after the enforcement begins.
